Overview

Ras Ibn Hani is an archaeological settlement on a peninsula north of Latakia, separate from the nearby beach resorts. Late Bronze Age palatial buildings and written records connect it with the kingdom of Ugarit at Ras Shamra. The North Palace and evidence of craft production provide a coastal counterpart to Ugarit’s inland urban remains. Later occupation adds further layers to the site’s history. The photograph shows excavated palace foundations beside the Mediterranean, not a resort; confirm current permissions and access before approaching the ruins.
