About & how we check.

Dalil Syria is a free, independent cultural atlas and travel guide to Syria, published in six languages by Damasol Technologies. This page explains what we are, how we verify what we publish, and how to reach us.

What Dalil Syria is

A cultural atlas of Syria: 28 cities, 42 heritage entries, 14 governorate volumes, a hotel and stays directory, a crafts discovery platform, community photography, an interactive heritage map and a trip planner — in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, Turkish and French.

The guide is free for readers. Hotels, artisans and photographers list themselves at no cost, and every submission passes editorial review before it appears. We do not sell tours, take commissions on bookings, or accept payment for listings.

How we check

  • Visa, fee and border rules come from official decrees and announcements of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Expatriates, cross-checked against reputable travel reporting.
  • Heritage status follows the UNESCO World Heritage List; Syria has six inscribed sites, and entries that form part of a larger inscription say so.
  • Safety information mirrors the published travel advisories of several governments — including the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany — and says so plainly, even when other pages describe what is practically possible.
  • Time-sensitive pages carry a dated “last checked” stamp naming their sources, so you can judge freshness for yourself.
  • Practical details — opening hours, hotel contacts, crossing procedures — come from the listed businesses themselves and from on-the-ground contributors, and are corrected when they change.

Corrections & contact

If you spot an error — an outdated fee, a wrong date, a closed crossing — tell us and we will verify and correct it. Every factual page is dated, and corrections are applied to all six languages together.
