Regional tensions in the Middle East remain unpredictable, with risks of further attacks and unforeseen escalation. Travel insurance may be invalidated if traveling against official advice.

Regional Status
Damascus and Suburbs
All governments advise against travel to Damascus and its suburbs due to unpredictable security conditions and the threat of terrorist attacks.
Coast and Central Governorates (Aleppo, Latakia, Tartus, Homs)
All governments advise against travel to these regions due to ongoing conflict and high security risks.
Palmyra and the Eastern Desert
This area is considered extremely dangerous due to the presence of armed groups and high potential for conflict.
North-East (Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor)
All governments advise against travel due to high risk of terrorist attacks, ongoing instability, and military operations.
South (Daraa, Suwayda)
High risk of violence, including clashes and targeted attacks, makes travel to these governorates unsafe.
North-West (Idlib)
This region is a major conflict zone with a high presence of armed groups and severe humanitarian concerns.

- Be prepared for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential travel disruptions across the region.

- Monitor local and international media for the latest information, including updates relating to airports and airspace.
- Stay away from areas around security or military facilities.
- Keep your departure plans under review, and ensure your travel documents are up to date.
- If advised to take shelter, stay indoors or find the nearest safe building or designated shelter.
- Do not approach or touch any drone or missile fragments or unusual objects.
Medical Facilities
Due to the severe security situation, healthcare infrastructure is severely compromised. It is essential to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers your itinerary, planned activities, and all expenses in an emergency, including medical treatment and emergency evacuation, should you choose to travel against official advice. Consular assistance for medical emergencies is unlikely to be available.
