Estado Regional
Damascus and Suburbs
Israeli air strikes occur throughout the country, including Damascus. Despite some airports resuming limited operations, security is highly volatile. Roadblocks and checkpoints are common. Risk of kidnapping remains.
Coastal and Central Governorates (Latakia, Tartus, Homs, Aleppo)
Areas remain highly unstable with ongoing military activity and risk of airstrikes. Aleppo airport has resumed limited operations but with uncertain flight schedules. Road safety is poor, and roadblocks are frequent.
Palmyra and Eastern Desert
This region is subject to extreme security risks including conflict, terrorism, and kidnappings. Travel in these areas is highly dangerous and unpredictable.
Northeast Syria (Raqqa, Deir ez-Zor)
Terrorist groups remain active, and the security situation is highly volatile. Kidnappings for ransom are frequent. Military operations and airstrikes continue.
Southern Syria (Daraa, Suwayda)
This region experiences ongoing violent clashes, criminality, and kidnappings, particularly in tribal areas. Smuggling and trafficking activities are common.
Northwest Syria (Idlib)
This area is largely controlled by armed opposition groups and remains an active conflict zone with frequent bombings and ground clashes. The risk to civilians is extremely high.

Healthcare infrastructure is severely damaged, and medical facilities are limited, especially outside major cities. Access to safe running water and electricity is inconsistent. Travel insurance that covers medical evacuation is essential, but it may be invalidated if you travel against official advice.
